About Products
Q: How do I care for wooden tableware?
General
Gently wash with a soft sponge or cloth using a neutral kitchen detergent that does not contain abrasives. Coarse, hard sponges, metal scrubbers, abrasive sponges, and cleansers can scratch the surface and cause damage.
For water and tea, simply rinsing with water is sufficient.
If the dirt has dried, loosen it with water or lukewarm water before washing.
Tsuru Series
Simply air dry or wipe off excess water. It dries relatively quickly due to its water-repellent properties. The water-resistant coating can withstand a certain degree of immersion.
Kame / Kamehachi Series
Wipe off moisture with a cloth and store in a well-ventilated area. Prolonged immersion should be avoided as it can cause paint peeling, deformation, and cracks due to expansion of the wood.
Q: How should I store them?
Store in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Especially for the Kame series, the coating will gradually thin due to UV rays. A feature of lacquerware is that it can be used beautifully for a long time with regular re-coating. We hope you will continue to use it through regular maintenance.
Q: Can I put hot drinks in them?
All series of Shizuku tableware have heat-resistant coatings, but extreme temperature changes are the enemy of wooden products. To avoid expansion and cracking due to heat, please do not pour hot water directly from a kettle or pot. Instead, use a teapot or pot to bring the drink to an ideal drinking temperature (around 60°C) before use.
Q: Can I use a dishwasher or microwave?
Cannot be used. The high temperature and dryness of dishwashers and microwaves can cause the wood to warp rapidly, leading to cracks and fissures.
Q: Can I put it in the refrigerator?
Refrigerators also involve rapid temperature changes and extreme dryness, so please refrain from using them.
Q: Can I use metal cutlery?
Using metal cutlery may scratch the vessel.
We recommend using wooden cutlery if possible. Wooden cutlery pairs perfectly with Shizuku's vessels.
Q: Is the color of the Tsuru series natural?
Yes, it's all natural cedar wood color. The trunk of cedar has different colors on the inside (red heartwood) and outside (white sapwood). This color variation was considered difficult to use and avoided for construction materials, which are the main use of cedar. However, SHIZQ has incorporated these two colors into the design as charming features. Therefore, it features unique overlapping annual rings that are rare in other wooden products.
Q:What is the partial pattern on the Tsuru series?
The pattern that looks like it has been subtly colored is cedar resin. It is produced by the tree to protect itself from water and injuries. Doesn't it make you feel a sense of closeness when you think of it as proof of the hard work of cedars that have little resin?

About Gift Wrapping
Q: Can I have my order gift-wrapped?
All wooden products are included in a special gift box free of charge.
We do not offer ribbon wrapping for aromatherapy products, but we do include an original paper bag for gifts. If you require one, please specify in the remarks column. We appreciate your cooperation in using simple packaging without wrapping paper.

Q: Can I have the dishes engraved?
We apologize, but we do not offer engraving services.
To enjoy the natural design where no two pieces are alike, we do not engrave them. Thank you for your understanding.
About Repair/Replacement of Wooden Products
Q: I bought some dishes and they got scratches or cracks. What should I do?
■ If cracks appear immediately after use
This is due to the nature of wood, so we will replace it free of charge if it is within 3 months of purchase.
■ In case of chips or scratches from use
Tsuru series: We will offer a discounted price exclusively for purchasers.
