Kamehachi x Colored Urushi x Limited Edition

Alluring gloss × colors that create new landscapes

This item features an 8-coat wiped lacquer finish that highlights the wood grain.
Its imposing yet modern impression adds a touch of color to contemporary dining tables and kitchens.
The feel of it in your hand is as if it adheres to your skin, and the rising rings of the wood grain are breathtakingly beautiful as they gleam in the light.
The lacquer unifies with the wood over time, making it even more durable.
This all-natural material gains more character over time.

In addition to standard colors that highlight the natural color of lacquer, SHIZQ introduces colored lacquer for the first time through a collaboration with Tsutsumi Asakichi Urushi Shop.
Due to the rarity of materials and the difficulty of production and painting, only 10 pieces could be produced this time.
Each piece is engraved with a serial number on its base to commemorate this collaboration.

■Standard Color (Limited to 6 pieces)
The natural brown of raw lacquer has a dark amber hue. Raw lacquer is refined sap collected from lacquer trees. It is a material that has been closely tied to daily life since ancient times, as evidenced by its discovery in Jomon period ruins, and by mixing pigments, a rich array of colors can be created.

■Azuki (Limited to 2 pieces)
A deep, brownish-red, like the color of adzuki beans. Adzuki beans have the same name in English. They have a long history of cultivation in Japan, even appearing in the Kojiki. Due to their red color, adzuki beans were believed to ward off illness, and it was customary to eat adzuki porridge on the winter solstice to prepare for the harsh cold.

■Ginnezumi (Limited to 2 pieces)
A bright, slightly bluish-gray, like silver. It was a very popular color during the Edo period. Instead of using "ash" which might evoke images of fire, the character "nezumi" (mouse) was used to refer to a beautiful, lustrous gray or white. This is a rare color in lacquerware, showcasing the highly skilled technique of applying multiple layers of lacquer.

All pieces are finished with a lustrous sheen characteristic of KAMEHACHI, accented by SHIZQ's unique overlapping cedar rings. This is a new pickling pot that will serve as an interior accent in your kitchen or dining room.
