New Store Information! Rainbow After the First Major Construction

Posted by 神山しずくプロジェクト on

Hello. Plums and peaches are blooming earlier than usual, and the changing winds occasionally remind me that spring is just around the corner.

Luckily, young cherry trees have been planted at the new location. As they bloom this year and grow alongside the new store, I'm filled with pleasant dreams and excitement.

Today, I'd like to share an update on the new store, which is currently in its most exciting phase: undergoing major renovations!

Building before renovation

Construction is in full swing. Windows have been installed!

The goal of moving from our current 3-tsubo (approx. 9.9 square meter) shop was stated in our New Year's greetings.

It is:

To allow you to enjoy the world of Shizuku in a relaxed atmosphere.
To allow you to experience Shizuku's vessels firsthand.

The new location is a former fish market owner's karaoke bar, "Stage Wakakusa," which we are renovating.
Being soundproofed, it was without windows and completely dark.

The first challenge was to transform that dark room into a bright space.
Given its location on Kamiyama's main road but situated on a hill, and to fully appreciate products made from cedar grown in Kamiyama,
maximizing natural light was essential.

We made the bold decision to remove a wall and install a large window.

Interior before renovation. It was used as a venue for music events, leveraging its soundproofing.

Interior during renovation. Windows have been opened, allowing bright light to stream in.

Renovating an old building is more challenging than constructing a new one
.
This property is no exception.
After extensive construction, a rainbow appeared through that large window.
It felt like a celebration for the new window, or perhaps a sign of support for our project.
It was a wonderful gift from above.

The installation of the window is just the beginning; construction is still in full swing today.
I hope you're all looking forward to seeing what kind of space it will become!
